Air filter

Sorry for the stupid question but can you clean the factory air cleaner? If so how do you get the foam off of the metal housing without tearing it? Or do you simply clean it while its on the housing.

You can clean the factory air filter. The directions are in the owners manual on page 8-32 & 8-33.

Here is the short version.
1. Remove the Air Filter
2. wash the element gently but throughly in solvent.
3. squeeze the excess solvent out of the air filter element and let it dry
4. apply air filter oil that is made for Foam Filters.

PJ1 makes filter cleaner and filter oil..these are what i use on my wolverine 450 (& my warrior).

Do Not remove the foam off the housing, this will destroy your filter.

Hope this helps.

I bought this ATV used and it didn't come with an owners manual. I clean the filter for my kawasaki the same way but I just wanted to make sure first. Thanks for the help.
